Here’s What to Expect from the Engineering Design Process
Project Review & Code Assessment
At the initial stage, I review architectural drawings, specifications, and project requirements to determine the applicable codes and design criteria. This includes compliance evaluation with NFPA, FM Global, UFC, UAE Fire Code, NBC 2016, and relevant IS standards.
System Design & Hydraulic Analysis
Based on project classification and hazard assessment, I develop detailed fire protection and plumbing system layouts. Hydraulic calculations (HASS or manual methods), pipe sizing, pressure loss analysis, and seismic bracing calculations are performed to ensure full code compliance and optimized system performance.
Coordination & Authority Compliance
Designs are coordinated with architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines to ensure clash-free integration. Documentation is prepared for authority submission and approval, ensuring adherence to local and international standards.
Final Documentation & Support
Upon design finalization, I provide complete shop drawings, calculation packages, BoQ support, and technical clarifications. I remain available for revisions, RFI responses, and construction-stage engineering assistance.
